The Art Pavilion Mile End Park London E3 4QY April 20 - May1 2023

Art Exhibition

I am delighted that three pieces of work have been chosen by Prism for their latest exhibition - Warped.

The work is a continuation of my exploration of the consequences of war upon civilian population and the consequent burden to life that is experienced.

The series was made as a response to the terrible destruction of Mariupol in the Ukraine. I explored the use of salvaged materials from the sea as a dual metaphor for the destruction of life and environment. Such found materials were woven and then warped by heat to produce shell like forms that spoke of the distortion of materials by bombing and subsequent fires. These works explore the aftermath of war - the remnants of material life and how civilians live in the presence of such forms.
